Merry Question Time:

thegenderneutral asked you:
Season’s greetings! I think the new beard is festive, hahaha :)

Thanks, I like to refer to it at this stage as “unattended unshavedness,” but now that beards are not that hip anymore, I might grow one. I just really hate shaving and often go like that for a bit, but then give up for some interview or other.

Anonymous asked you:
I was just wondering why you stopped posting all the nice comments people said about you/your art? I guess they could have gotten a little monotonous to answer after awhile, but I sort of liked reading other people’s kind words about your stuff.

Eh, not sure, I always feel ashamed and guilty when people like me and posting it online seems self-indulgent & narcissistic. Though not posting is a bit rude, so I’ll just shut up, you’re right.

ameiliajay asked you:
Where do you get ideas or insiration for all of your drawings? Do you just sit down and draw for a while? Or is there a process? (So many questions in one… my apologies, Sir. > . < )

In comics/illustration it’s usually from literature, couldn’t care less about “real life.” Psychic Detective was mainly lifted from Joyce, Huysmans, Waugh, Parker & more obscure stuff. A lot of ideas come out of nowhere to be honest or from talking to myself in the shower. For dumb straightforward pictures of fashunable girls looking bored I’m usually inspired by my crippling loneliness. There are process posts under this tag, I’ll post some new ones later.

antiquespoons asked you:
You are fantastic! I love your style. =]

thefallofavel asked you:
you have an awesome blog!

Thank you! (there.)
